From the year 2003, Palawi has been working actively in the battle against AIDS.AIDS has assumed a monstrous proportion and is spreading its tentacles with accelerating pace. Today there are millions of AIDS affected people and sadly there are hundreds of orphaned HIV Positive children whose parents have succumbed to this deadly disease. There are a few organization to take the cause of these children. We at the Prabha-Hira Pratishthan have undertaken this unique work to care for and to rehabilitate these children through a special non government funded project named 'Palawi'.

'Palawi' which means foliage, was born, with the intention of doing concrete work to rehabilitate innocent and orphaned children and women afflicted with dreaded disease. Palawi is among the first few NGOs in India to understand the seriousness of the HIV AIDS epidemic. Situated about 3 kilometers from Pandharpur, it's a home to destitute orphaned children and women affected by HIV AIDS who need shelter, medical assistance and care.

At present Palawi is in the process of rehabilitating 43 children aged 4 months to 12 years and 5 women. Prabha-Hira Pratishthan has acquired land measuring 3750 Sq. ft. with the financial help of individual donors who contributed whole heartily to the organization.
